Looks like anyone around the kerb can suddenly come up with a few products and claim that they are all organic and therefore 3 of 4 times more expensive compared to competing products. Some 4 decades ago, authentic home made used to be available in small villages, albeit in small quantities too. Today, nearly any fat is packaged as ghee and sold under different brand names. The quality of even Patanjali cow ghee is a far cry from its early days, when I had really recommended it as the best product money can buy. Sale of Patanjali ghee has grown exponentially and you know what happens to quality in that scenario.
It is expensive for sure but brought it for my daughter anyways can't really speak about the purity ,feels like any other ghee.
Rs.922 for 1/2 kg of ghee !!! Gosh !!!..I thought that popcorn sold in cinema theatres were the worst rip-off consumer foods available. Now this product outdoes that by being sold at 5 times its store prices. Major Diary mfrs. with "Superbrand" labels all across the country sell ghee at Rs.200 per 1/2 kg. Wonder why an Organic product should be pricier, when it should in fact be cheaper.
It says 25 litres of milk is required to prepare one litre of ghee. Assuming a pure cow milk costs Rs 100 per litre, 25 litres cost Rs. 2500 /. So one litre of ghee should not cost less than Rs. 2500/-. Then how come this ghee is sold at Rs. 1150 for 500 gms or Rs. 2300 for 1000 gms.
